Better late than never I thought to myself, and so late the contribution to the indoor race in Rotenburg 12h:
before last Friday I got a call from spontaneously Phlipp - he is a man reported to the team of 4 for 12 hours indoors in Rotenburg sick - whether I would like to pitch. Of course, I had that and so it went on Saturday morning towards Rotenburg in Goebel's Hotel Arena (http://www.goebel-hotels.com/). Since it was all very spontaneous and I was only substitute, it was nothing with the message for the new club, this will need to cellar Bike Marathon ... Since this year I have not once sat on the MTB, I'm Friday night then at least once drove around the block just to see if everything is tuned at all:) The bike was found to be good and ready to start. Once in Rotenburg
was first searched the box and then it was about to start on a quick workout. The course was packed with a total of 1.080m langund 25HM. After a short finishing straight in the hall, we went outside and tar on a "Heubalenschikane" around downhill.
After a fairly steep trail (which was extra shovel) down and into the parking garage. |
About all levels, it was funny around the pillars and in the end out of the car park, "Heuballenschikane" in front of the hall and back into the warmth inside, coated with a long "S" back to the start / finish straight. First impressions: Indoor hot, cold outside and felt the car park even colder than outside. The floor was covered with wooden planks, which gave good support, the trail was fast outdoor mobile, for some "fun team" but simply too hard. In the parking garage took turns rough, concrete grip on smooth, sealed concrete - sometimes very tricky and in the car park anyway you got a rotary worm;) The final ascent out of the car park did with increasing race duration more and more painful, the 25HM per round in the end to add up to a considerable sum.
I have the whole thing from the beginning seen as a test to see where I'm training standard before going in mid-April to the first "real" competition. Just in time by 8 clock it was launched and Marco graduated from the first half hour. At the beginning we have agreed on a half-hour exchange. The first change Phlipp then went on around and about 9 clock it was my turn with my first use. I felt good so far and after the 9th Round I got the call for change in the next round. The glatet lining in the car park is then on my last lap ensured a smooth "slip away" and I was in the paddock first fear for my saddle - who had only moved slightly and was loose because of it. After the first 4 hours we were just the last place - we were the only mixed team and were thus counted with the men's, our chances were in any case not very great. My goal was to find the performance test to drive a consistent performance. I succeeded quite well: The first split was down to around 2:43 per lap from the second to last then it has leveled off 2:50 to 2:59, as I in the car park after the crash in the first split significantly speed have taken out. So I came through after all, but in the end without falling.
meantime, then came the lady also times and was able - thanks to the short range - even look at what is happening outside the start / finish times:) She did, however, preferred to continue taking care of Philip's daughter:) It was quite funny with Phlipp, his wife, Carmen, Marco and little Lena, so the last place was absolutely no matter the 4 teams at the end. The performance test was positive, the endurance matches so far, only the force is still lacking, but this is understandable, as I only now begin with strength and endurance units.
The event was overall very good, only you should decide whether I think something is carried out indoors or outdoors and will not make a mix of both. Fortunately We had great weather, so it went halfway in order, but it would be colder and maybe even wet was, one would have the whole thing can really grease in the hair. Replace
